Day 6: Flekkefjord - Lyngdal

10/7/2013

After a chilly night on the bank of a lake, we were relieved to see the sun again this morning. We've been spoiled with good weather so far - long may it last!

A typical day sees us getting underway not very early, after a cup of tea and whatever we've found for breakfast. After a sweaty day in the saddle and a supermarket stop for supplies, we arrive at a campsite at 7 or 8 and hope there's a space. By the time we've pitched the tent, showered and cooked, it's time for bed and the blog again. Not that it gets particularly dark here, just a strange half-light for most of the night.

Today was more stunning scenery and lots of hills, including some steep, gravel tracks that were too difficult to pedal with all the weight we're carrying. The fjord to Kinvesal was a highlight, also Farsund (very posh!) and the sight of Becky herding escaped cows from the road into their field. A llama also got involved somehow and Bex still made it to the top of the hill before I did! 54 (319), 239m

Another nice view. They're mostly like this...

... or this. A proper fjord view to the open sea

Amazed that you are having such lovely weather. I got the impression that the rain they have had in Scotland went on straight over to you. Detox = No beer though....why on earth did you choose such a strange place for a holiday...still you can dream of the trip to the Driftwood Spars when you get back for a pint of Alfie's Revenge!

Is there no end to Becky's talents? Bet you didn't expect to be herding llamas in Norway! Glad you are having a good time - it looks beautiful. Shame about the lack of ooze, but just think how good it will taste when you are back at home! A x

Yes, we'll have to do some catching up when we get home! Driftwood will be perfect.

Don't know what we've done to get such great weather - in Bergen it will break sooner, but we've been heading south from there and it's just got better.

The whole camping and cooking thing is working out well - shops here are good and tonight we had sausage, tomato and chick pea stew. Tomorrow, llama burgers!
